During the week that Liz and I spent on the southwest coast of Ireland in April 2017 we spent some of the time looking round some of the seaside towns that adorn that stretch of Atlantic shoreline.
One such spot was the charming town and harbour of Kinsale, and we spent a happy couple hours walking around the town.
Of especial interest to us was a visit to the gallery of one of our favourite artists, Philip Gray, who lives and paints in Kinsale and produces some beautiful seascapes, amongst other works.
However, as he wasn't in and the gallery was shut we headed out along the harbourside towards Charles Fort, taking in the views along the way.
Towards sunset we parked up on the waterfront, looking back towards Kinsale, and I set up my camera and tripod to record a couple of hour's worth of time lapse sequence as the sun set over the town, and dusk faded to night.
It was a lovely evening, with the cloudy sky and rather nice buildings reflecting in the unusually calm Atlantic waters as the natural light of day fled into night, to be replaced by the artifical lights of the town, captured in the waters below.
Well worth staying out a bit late to watch and film.
