One of our discoveries of 2020, this is the beautiful and dramatic Grey Mare's Tail waterfall, just inside the Snowdonia National Park near Llanrwst in North Wales.
My wife Liz and I first found this spot in the spring, and resolved to return for a more lengthy visit later in the year.
So following a visit to Llanrwst to check out the vivid red Virgina Creeper adorning the Tu Hwnt I'r Bont cottage we crossed the famous Inigo Jones bridge and headed just a short way along the B5106 to the waterfall car park.
As usual, the waterfall was nearly deserted, just a couple of families splashing in the Nant Gwydyr downstream, so I was able to clamber down to river level and get right up close to the falls to capture these video clips.
We must come back in winter to see how the falls look with snow and icicles.
What an intriguing prospect!
