This was the second trip that my wife Liz and I had taken for a spot of winter sun on Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands.
Our last visit was three years ago, taking our hire car exploring over most of the island's volcanic mountains and coastline.
One place that was definately on our 'must see again' list was the amazing volcanic shoreline at La Garita, on the east coast.
Pummelled by Atlantic swells, this rocky crennelated shoreline provides a mesmeric display of water cascading down eroded ledges as the waves ebb and flow.
On our previous visit I didn't know what to expect, so was ill equipped to do photographic justice to this wonderful place.
But this second time I turned up fully tooled with my wide angle lens, filters, tripod and programmable remote release, determined to make the best of the opportunity.
I ended up taking dozens of individual still images, live action video and this time lapse, comprising over 1,000 JPEGS shot continuously at a rate of 4 per second to give a view of the wave action speeded up by around 7 times.
