Perched in magnificent splendour on the cliffs of Ayrshire in southern Scotland and overlooking the Firth of Clyde, these are the ruins of Dunure castle, original home of the Kennedys of Carrick and steeped in history.
When I first clapped eyes on this dramatic scene I was just blown away by the castle and its surroundings' photographic potential, and I wasn't the only one as parts of the TV series 'Outlander' was filmed here as well.
This is the second of three time lapse videos I created featuring the castle during a two week holiday my wife Liz and I spent exploring the area, with Dunure castle being one of the 'finds' of our trip.
This view shows the castle in situ above Dunure's rock strewn beach with gentle clouds rolling by overhead.
