Early morning in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), North Wales, and I'm hunched over my tripod in the cold, crisp air listening to an owl hooting in the trees to my left.
In front of my lens, pointing eastwards, the first hints of twilight shimmer on the far horizon, bounded by the valley between the twin peaks of Moel Famau and Feol Fenlli.
Time passes, and the dawn glow slowly creeps upwards, filling the tree lined Vee shaped void of the valley with liquid light and catching the underside of the clouds drifting by overhead.
As the time for sunrise draws closer the orange, gold and mauve bands of colour towards the eastern horizon intensify in anticipation of the coming day, filling my mind with awe as the incredible spectacle unfolds before me.
By now, the avian day shift is in full cry, but for me the morning is already coming to an end as it's time to pack away my camera and head off to work.
Not a bad way to start the day I'm sure you'll agree, and I have this time lapse video to remind me of God's wisdom and beauty in creation, played out anew every morning for those who care to watch.
