The North Wales coast is a great place to witness dramatic weather, but even I, who'd lived near here most of my life, was taken somewhat aback by the sheer size and power of this cumulus cell that formed just out to sea, over the Colwyn Bay windfarm.
This short time lapse video shows the cloud boiling over the turbines, but what I missed filming was the tornado that grew and diminished from the base of the cloud over the fifteen minutes prior to my starting shooting.
How frustrating is that! But it was my own fault for venturing too far from my car without carrying my camera kit with me.
Lesson learnt, as you never know what the weather is going to do next in this part of the world.
Never mind, as the cloud itself was a thing of grace and beauty, even without the tornado!
