As an outdoor photographer, there are some locations I'll just keep coming back to time and time again, as they hardly ever fail to provide something beautiful and photo-worthy to enjoy.
One such place is Church Bay (or Porth Swtan in welsh) on the northwest coast of the wonderful Isle of Anglesey.
With a sandy beach, punctuated by interesting rocks and flanked by honey coloured cliffs which glow in the light of the setting sun, Church Bay is quite a popular spot with those who love a day by the sea, as do I.
Late afternoon, towards sunset, is the best time to be here for a photo session as the sun will be setting out over the Irish Sea and is visible from the beach or cliffs almost right through the year.
I filmed this particular time lapse sequence of the incoming tide heading towards sunset at the end of a lovely day in early September 2021 as we were enjoying a late blast of good weather before the Autumn rains and wind arrived once again.
And the timing of the tide arriving at my tripod, just as the sun disappeared below the far horizon, was just perfect.
A fitting end to a great day out on Anglesey.
