After a gorgeous summer's day spent exploring the beautiful Isle of Anglesey just off the north wales coast, my wife Liz and I were loth to head straight home along the A55, so instead we called in at Caernarfon, one of the jewels of the North Wales coast.
The main attraction at Caernarfon is the huge medieval castle, built by King Edward the First to try and keep the unruly welsh under control - fat chance of that!.
But the castle itself, sitting at the entrance to the old harbour on the Menai Straits, makes for a great photographic subject, especially at high tide on a calm evening, as the battlements light up and are reflected in the calm waters below.
So, of course, I couldn't resist spending an hour by my camera, recording the hundreds of still images needed to create this time lapse video as dusk fell over the castle and day morphed into night.
And then, finally, it was time for the drive home, but not before a visit to Caernarfon MacDonalds for a couple of coffees and some chicken nuggets!
