Surely one of the most dramatic sights on the North Wales coast is the imposing castle on the foreshore at Caernarfon.
This time lapse view of the castle was filmed from the far side of the tidal mouth of the Afon Seiont river, giving a great view of the castle and its reflection in the calm waters at high tide.
I've created a few time lapse sequences of this view over the years, and what drew me in to take yet another was the new arrangement of spotlights illuminating the castle walls, which I'd never seen before.
The new lights, plus the movement of some nicely textured clouds overhead, gave me a magical hour or so, hunched over my tripod making minute exposure adjustments while my wife Liz enjoyed the peace and got on with some knitting.
Finally it was time to pack everything away for the drive home, feeling very happy at having witnessed such a familiar scene once again.
Just like visiting an old friend who's had his house redecorated!
