When most people think of Caernarfon they will picture the old town, complete with walls and King Edward I's huge castle, now a World Heritage Site.
And quite right too, but that's not all Caernarfon has to offer.
Just a few paces along the sea wall from the castle lies the new development at Victoria Dock, complete with marina, gallery, theatre, shopping, restaurants and expensive flats.
It was the marina that attracted me on this cold, windswept afternoon as I set up my good old Canon 5D in time lapse mode, to record the transition from day to night.
Normally very busy, the docks were deserted as rain started to lash down at sunset, just as the balance of light between the sky above and the artificially lit marina below was coming nicely into balance.
It's situations like these that having a few nick-nacks in your camera bag comes in handy.
Nick-nack du jour for this particular problem proved to be a simple disposable shower cap, taken from a hotel room long ago and stored in my LowePro ever since.
The shower cap covered over the camera, leaving just the tip of the lens and filter holder exposed to the rain, enabling me to keep going till the sky went completely black.
In fact, you can see the raindrops trickling down the face of the filter towards the end of the video.
I, however, got soaked!
