The promise of a sunny, warm Saturday in late September 2020 was all the excuse my wife Liz and I needed to head to the seaside.
But instead of our usual excursions along the North Wales coast we decided to venture further afield and head down to Barmouth and the stunning Mawddach estuary for a change.
We had a great day, and even managed a walk across the famous wooden railway bridge, crossing the tidal estuary to the Fairbourne side.
On our way back across the bridge to Barmouth what I'd hoped for happened, as a train started crossing the bridge, heading straight for us.
With just a few sceonds to spare I managed to re-configure my camera to video mode and, bracing the camera body on a conveneient wooden handrail, managed to film the train going by, very close to my shooting position.
As you can imagine, things got pretty shaky as the train went by, but the wonderful 'Distortion Warp Stabiliser' function in Adobe Premiere Pro sorted that out in fine style for me.
