I've always been fascinated by the tides, and living near the North Wales coast I've got plenty of opportunity to watch and enjoy some of the highest tidal ranges in the world as the Irish Sea ebbs and flows over the shorelines twice a day, every day.
This minute long video of the rising tide filling in the ripples and footprints in the sand could have been filmed anywhere along the welsh coast but it was, in fact, captured on the beach at Barmouth on the mouth of the Mawddach estuary as the river flows from Snowdonia into the sea.
Just another wonderful aspect of God's clockwork that is our solar system in action.
