This is the stunning Whitepark Bay, on Northern Ireland's Antrim coast.
My wife Liz and I spent a lovely afternoon here during our summer 2013 holiday, and for once, the sun was actually shining!
Sunny afternoons are definately in order for strolling along beaches and paddling in the clear Atlantic waters, but they're a bit of a problem for photography, with high contrast and washed out colours to contend with.
The photo displayed here is a nice 'postcard' type of view, but I would have loved to return at dusk or dawn, with a recedeing tide to take some 'proper' photos.
Never fear though, as although I couldn't manage it on this occasion, I saw a beautiful print of Whitepark Bay, taken under great twilight light by local artist Mary Hill, on display in the Ballycastle art gallery.
It's now framed and hanging on my living room wall.
