A very grey day at West Kirby found my wife Liz and I walking around the seawall of the wonderful Marine Lake, me with camera in hand on the offchance of seeing something meaningful to photograph.
Fortunately for me, the local sailing school came out in force on the lake, bobbing around in dinghies with brightly coloured sails in pink and green.
These luminous colours shone out against the grey of the sky and water, and tuned a somewhat dismal scene into an eye-catching treat.
I'm certainly glad I bothered to carry my camera around with me on our stroll!
