Set in a lovely wooded valley, Aber Falls in the Snowdonia National Park must be one of the most photogenic waterfalls in Wales.
This view of the falls is from the left hand side of the river Afon-Rhaeadr-fawr, positioned almost at the base of the falls and showing just the lower portion.
In this image, I used a dead branch as a lead-in line to draw the viewer's eye up through the frame to the stepped waterfall beyond.
A conversion to monochrome changed the mood of the image to a more sombre and foreboding feel than was present in the original colour RAW file.
