Sometimes you don't need to see the big picture to know exactly where you are in the world.
Gondolas, with their uniquely shaped prows, are so ingrained in peoples' perception of Venice that a photo of just part of one is enough to set the imagination running.
This particular example was photographed close by to the Rialto Bridge, and is set off by the surrounding colourful abstract reflections.
I made sure to crop out any actual solid structure from the composition, leaving just an abstract thought and letting the imagination fill in the details.
