A brief lull in the weather during December 2017 found me taking advantage with an early morning pre-work climb up my local hill, Moel Famau, the highest peak in the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
Laid out below me was the Vale of Clwyd, lit up by the lights of the towns of Denbigh and Prestatyn and all the little villages round about, while on the slopes of the Clwydians the Moel y Parc transmitter arial glowed red with aircraft warning lights.
The scene was completed by a swathe of light cloud on the horizon, picking up the orange/yellow hue of the lights below, with the star spangled indigo of the night sky high above.
Just a beautiful arrangement of light and colour, and well worth taking a pause along the path to capture as a photograph.
I knew there was a reason why I hauled my camera bag and tripod up and down that hill!
