The sleepy village of Cong, County Galway, in the west of Ireland is a gem of a place. It's bounded by both a river and a lake, shown here framed with old growth trees.
My wife Liz and I were driving through on an explore and stopped off here for a break, little knowing what a beautiful place we'd chosen almost by accident.
We spent a couple of hours here, just wandering around savouring the peace and quiet, looking at the scenery and taking photos.
It's the sort of place that time forgot, and we had to tear ourselves away to carry on with our tour to the coast, but with a real sense of having experienced something timeless and intangible.
