Autumn in Snowdonia is a wonderful time - when the sun shines that is!
On one of those said rare sunny days my wife Liz and I headed off for an afternoon's exploring along the Conway estuary and into the Snowdonia National Park.
Armed with our Ordinance Survey map we struck off uphill into the Gwydyr Forest, somewhere we'd never been before, but always meant to.
We were soon enchanted by the smells, sounds and sights of woodland in all its Autumn finery. Just sitting quietly listening to the birds and waterfalls was so refreshing to our souls.
Of course, I had to take at least a few photos, but I held back from getting too immersed in the mechanics of photography. Rather I wanted to let the landscape speak to me rather than fret over whether I was going to get a stunning photo or not.
There's a time and place for full on photography, but here in the forest, on this particular day, just wasn't one of those times.
