I've got a thing for dead trees, I love the stark drama of the snags against the sky, especially when the deadness of the tree is juxtaposed with vibrant life all around.
I photographed this particularly fine example early one morning, just after sunrise, in Erddig Country Park, just outside Wrexham in North Wales.
It's situated right by a lake, and the joyful sound of abundant life (birds, insects and so on) filled my ears as I contemplated the contrast between life and death, so aptly illustrated by this magnificent dead tree surrounded by so much life.
