The beautiful forests and rolling countryside of North Wales is nowhere more evident than around Llyn Trawsfynydd.
My wife Liz and I stopped here for what we thought was just a cup of tea in the anglers' cafe, but in the end we stayed for a couple of hours, hiking around the lake through ancient forest as far as the imposing Maentwrog dam.
And it was from the dam wall that I captured this HDR image looking out over a wooded gorge to the mountains of Snowdonia on the far horizon.
Just a wonderful, peaceful spot.
