Taken at the same time as 'Train driver #1', this is a much more surreal rendition of the 'Duchess of Sutherland' steam train, just as it (I refuse to call it a 'she') was pulling out of the station at Llandudno Junction in North Wales.
I also took plenty of shots of the running gear when the train was stationary, but I like this slow speed blurred shot better, as it seems to me to convey a deeper meaning than a normal static photo would.
It makes me think of the romance of travel from a bygone era, and the awe and mystery I felt as child, watching with my father at these clanging monsters thundering along the rails near where I was born.
