Driving north along the TF-82 from Costa Adeje on the south coast of Tenerife you will soon enough come to the charming little town of Santiago del Teide.
Which is where my wife Liz and I stopped for a leg stretch during an exploratory drive up to the north coast while enjoying a January week in the relative warmth of the Canary Islands.
The town square seemed to be the place to be, with the obligatory catholic church dominating the architecture.
Once I'd spent some time photographing the outside of the building I snuck inside to have a look at the ornate decorations that normally adorn the interiors of Spanish catholic churches.
And although the church was quite small as these things go, there were some nice features to be seen and quickly photographed in the soft, diffused lighting.
