Driving north along the TF-82 from Costa Adeje on the south coast of Tenerife you will soon enough come to the charming little town of Santiago del Teide.
Which is where my wife Liz and I stopped for a leg stretch during an exploratory drive up to the north coast while enjoying a January week in the relative warmth of the Canary Islands.
The town square seemed to be the place to be, with the obligatory catholic church dominating the architecture.
I had a few goes at photographing the church from the front, but there was so much clutter (bins, people, cars etc.) that in the end I gave up.
However, round the far side of the church things were visually much better, with the stark white geometry of the building framed nicely against the deep blue of a polarised sky.
