Los Gigantes on the west coast of Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, is famous for one thing only - the huge and dramatic sea cliffs that stretch northwards from the seaside town all the way to the northwestern tip of the island at Punto De Teno.
So of course, a visit to the town was high on my photographic list of 'go to' places for the week that Liz and I spent on Tenerife in early 2017.
The first proper view we had of Los Gigantes, set against the backdrop of the sea cliffs and azure waters of the Atlantic Ocean, was from a popular viewpoint high above the town.
So I spent a few minutes here battling to get a decent composition amongst a sea of coach parties.
In the end I had to stand on the wall separating the road from a steep drop down the hill to get an arrangement of buildings, sea and cliffs that I was happy with, framed by the fronds of a handily placed palm tree.
A few exposures only and I was off the wall and back into the car, with the next challenge being to find a parking space near the harbour so we could carry on our exploration on foot.
