Despite the vast amount of tourist resort developments along the south coast of Tenerife in the Canary Isalnds it's still possible to find the odd little seaside village that hasn't yet succumbed to the concrete.
During our week long stay on Tenerife in Janusry 2020 my wife Liz and I found just such a spot, La Caleta, just a half hour's stroll along the seaside promenade from the heavily developed Costa Adeje.
Build around a small bay formed of volcanic lava, La Caleta is a lovely collection of waterfront restaurants and low rise housing, with a quaint 'olde worlde' seaside ambiance that Liz and I really appreciated after the bustle and crowds at Costa Adeje.
Wandering around the backstreets of La Caleta just reinforced our opinion of how nice this town is, with the original buildings and architecture still much in evidence.
This arrangement featuring an aerial sticking out of a tiled roof caught my eye as we mooched along.
A bit left field I know, but the simplicity of the composition, together with the colour palette and the single point of focus, all added together to pique my photographic interest.
