Every year my wife Liz and I plan a week long winter sun break to cheer ourselves up during the cold and damp North Wales January.
This year (2020), after a five year absence, we made a return trip to Tenerife in the Canary Islands, stating in a resort at Costa Adeje on the heavily developed south coast.
Although I'm not a great fan of holiday resorts we did manage a couple of strolls along the promenade, and of course I photographed the quintessential holiday resort beach scene, with bright white hotels lining the parasol encrusted beach.
But it was the clouds over the volcanic mountains in the background that made this image worthwhile taking in my opinion.
A clear blue sky just wouldn't have had the same impact.
