Close to midsummer on the North Wales coast, and at this latitude the sky never really gets dark at night.
I'm on Talacre beach at 10.30 at night enjoying the beautiful twilight colours of blue and orange as the tide reaches its highest point, surrounding the iconic Point of Ayr lighthouse.
This much photographed abandoned lighthouse is a real eye grabber, especially on a night like this when I can use a long exposure to render the moving water and clouds into a surreal blur, with only the lighthouse itself remaining sharp in the composition.
Well worth staying up late to enjoy.
