This photo is from Llandudno's West Shore on a winter's evening, with the sun just setting behind the headland at Penmaenmawr, kissing the wet sand with a play of golden and orange light.
As a photographer, I love light, and quite often I'll make light the main compositional element in my pictures.
The addition of water or reflective surfaces such as wet sand to such a scene just doubles the pleasure, as you have the light in the sky and the reflections to enjoy as well.
I'll deliberately position myself when photographing to maximise the impact of dark and light areas in a photo, such as this one, where the patterns of light and dark lead the eye a merry dance through the scene.
