October 16th 2017 saw hurricane Ophelia batter the west coast of Ireland, and while here in North Wales we escaped relatively unscathed the hurricane did produce some amazing weather conditions.
One of the strangest was the red sun phenomena, caused by dust dragged up from the south by the wind, together with smoke particles from fires in Spain and Portugal.
This image, taken from a series of several hundred that I took for my Red Sun Timelapse #1 video, shows the sun with a partial covering of cloud, catching the vivid red light.
