Autumn in the Snowdonia National Park must surely be one of the nicest experiences anyone could wish for.
Liz and I were visiting one of our favourite seasonal locations, enjoying a walk around the beautiful Llyn Crafnant, when I spotted this arrangement of fallen golden leaves in a little run-off stream by the side of the path.
I was really in the creative zone at the time, seeing potential photographs everywhere I looked, and this arrangement caught my eye so we stopped for a break while I framed this composition up and took a few frames at different exposure settings.
In the end, I preferred this shot, using both a polarising filter to kill any glare and a six stop ND filter to extend the exposure time to a whopping 15 seconds, allowing the flowing water to become mist like, contrasting with the fixed elements of rocks and leaves in the final image.
A lovely and evocative reminder of the beauty all around us, even in the small details at our feet.
