My wife Liz and I were taking a break from exploring the Rocky Mountain National Park, and instead took the I7 south from Estes Park down to Nederland, just to see what it was like.
What I wasn't expecting to find there was a store dedicated to alpaca wool and products, which Liz made a beeline for as soon as she saw it!
I knew this visit could take some time, so I mooched around the street outside looking for interesting things to photograph.
One of the cultural differences I've noticed between the United States and back home in the UK was just how many people flew the American Stars and Stripes flag on their properties, so I made an effort to seek one out for a photo in the bright noon sun.
I didn't have far to look, as there was a brand new example flying in front of the house right next door to the alpaca wool store.
The flag was fluttering gently in the breeze, so I took a few shots, finally choosing this one, with the flag in its most unfurled condition, as the best.
