The last rays of the dying sun light the horizon with fire as night falls over the Snowdon horseshoe in the Snowdonia National Park, North Wales.
My wife Liz and I had been sat patiently waiting for the light by the side of Llyn Mymbyr, only to have the sun totally obscured by heavy cloud for most of the afternoon, and we were just about to give up and go home when a faint redness appeared on the underside of the clouds over to the west.
So we stayed put, and watched in delight as, for just a few moments, the setting sun found a gap in the wrack and gave us the light show we'd been hoping for.
