There are many ways to climb the shapely peak of Moel Siabod, in the Snowdonia National Park, but one of the most interesting is the route that starts off at Pont Cyfyng on the A5 and climbs up past Llyn Foel to the summit at 872 metres above sea level.
About halfway up there are a series of abandoned slate quarry workings, which make a nice spot for a picnic and a spot of photography.
This particular image shows the abandoned workmens' cottages, now collapsed, framed in a triangular fashion by a pile of slate spoil which serves to give context to the image.
A typical Snowdonia scene.
