Liz and I were lounging on the promenade deck on the P&O liner Arcadia at dusk, sipping coffee and watching the light fade as the warm Mediterranean breeze wafted gently over us.
The ship's lights were on, illuminating the white railings and highly polished teak rail very nicely against the glowing sky.
We weren't the only ones enjoying the evening, as every now and then elegantly clad couples would waft by en-route to the restaurant or one of the shows, passing by in a blur of colour.
Fortunately for me I'd been photographing the sunset a few minutes previously, so I still had my trusty Canon and 100-400mm zoom perched on a tripod by my deckchair.
Every now and then I'd just pop off a shot as someone walked by, having set the shutter speed slow enough to create a nice impressionistic blur of the moving people, set against the sharply delineated railing and beautifully coloured sky.
This was my favourite shot from that location. What a way to spend an evening!
