This photo shows the promenade deck on the P&O liner Arcadia, right at the stern of the ship.
Going on a cruise holiday means that, not only do you get to visit a different place every day, but you also get a whole ship to explore and photograph while sailing. What's not to like about that?
Actually, ships are full of interesting shapes and details to photograph, the only problem being that they're also full of people who tend to get in the way while you're trying to frame up that wonderfully abstract and arty composition you've just found.
No problem for this shot, taken in the middle of the night somewhere in the Mediterranean sea, as everyone else was inside enjoying whatever, leaving me free to shoot long exposures without fear of interruption.
I particularly liked the features of the promenade deck right at the stern of the ship, with wonderful lines, sweeeps and curves to enjoy, emphasised by the use of a wide angle lens and a simple colour gamut.
