While on holiday in Sedona, Arizona, my wife Liz and I spent one day exploring the West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon, and what an awazing day it was!
The scenery was breathtaking (as was the heat) as we hiked along the banks of Oak Creek inbetween towering sandstone walls glowing red in the sunlight. I was expecting semi-arid desert conditions, but the canyon was alive with birds and verdant green leaved pines - absolutely beautiful.
This three shot panoramic shows a spot that we stopped to have a picnic and cool our feet in the creek before carrying on as far up the trail as we could manage. This view is typical of what we saw that day, with fresh wonder around every corner.
What a place!
