While my wife Liz and I were on holiday in Sedona, Arizona, one of the best apsects of our holiday from my point of view was that I was able to get up just before dawn, drive for 5 minutes and be in fantastic locations in time for sunrise.
This panoramic stitch was taken on one such outing when I'd driven up to the Airport Mesa (plateau) and set up my tripod overlooking Sedona itself, with Capital Butte, Coffee Pot rock and othe familiar landmarks in the background.
The sense of awe and peace as the sun rose, stroking the sandstone with golden light was something that can't be described, only experienced, and my photograph only gives a hint of the beauty and grandeur of such a scene.
Visit if you can, and remember to get up there before sunrise!
