Now this is more to my taste! Mean clouds and dramatic light splashing across the Sedona landscape as the sun dips towards the horizon.
Weather like this is very rare in Arizona, where clear blue skies tend to be the order of the day, and this photo demonstrates the benefit of finding a great location close to home which you can visit at a moment's notice when you see something dramatic happening in the sky.
During our holiday in Sedona we daytripped to many fantastic places and, of course, I took hundreds of photos during those trips, but looking back through all the photos I took it's those taken close to Sedona where we were staying that I think are the best, locations that I visited multiple times in diverse conditions.
