How many of us look for photographic potential at our feet?
My wife Liz and I were strolling along the beach at Talace, North Wales when I spotted these birdie footprints in the blown sand at the foot of a dune.
There were human footprints all around except for this one patch of sand, so I carefully isolated the line of prints in my viewfinder, angling them from one corner of the frame to the other to create a bit of dynamic tension.
The actual photo I took was pretty flat, with very little contrast or saturation. That's good, as it's much easier to add contrast and saturation in post-processing than it is to take it out and I was able to create this much more dramatic version of the image with relatively little effort.
