Beaches are wonderfully dynamic places, every time the tide washes in and out new stuff happens and there's something fresh to see and photograph.
I've been visiting the beach at Talacre on the North Wales coast for many years now, and I've never seen it the same twice.
On this occasion the receding tide had left acres and acres of ripples in the sand, which I photographed just on the cusp of sunset, with the final golden rays just kissing the peaks of the sand ripples, while leaving the valleys in shadow.
This was such an abstract scene I had to qualms about pushing it further into surrealism in Photoshop, adding more distortion to the horizon and boosting the contrast and colour of the sand ripples to enhance the desired effect.
