Sometimes it's the small detail that conveys the meaning of a place or event more poignantly than a large scenic view can.
I found this old blue frayed rope hanging down on the sea wall at Ravenglass in the Lake District, and the state of the rope combined with the colour and texture of the old stones making up the wall convey very well the sort of sleepy decay that pervades this place.
Liz and I spent a restful couple of hours just wandering around taking the odd photos and savouring the atmosphere on this quiet afternoon in late Autumn.
