During my wife Liz's and my two week stay in Colorado, spent exploring the Rocky Mountain National Park, we saw and photographed many, many, scenes of majestic mountain grandeur.
But of course, there's beauty to be found in the small details as well.
I was particularly taken by the shapes, colours and texture found in the bark of this pine tree, growing by the side of the Wild Basin Trail near Allenspark.
To me it resembles a tick mark, as if the tree had passed a test.
