This is the aptly named 'Huffers Hill', high up in Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park, and although it's only a 250 foot climb from the Alpine Visitor Centre car park, the thin air at 12,000 feet altitude leaves you gasping as you struggle your way up to the summit.
The first time my wife Liz and I stopped at the Alpine Visitor Centre, we could barely walk from the car to the toilets and back without running out of oxygen, having just arrived from our sea level home in North Wales the previous day.
However, by the second week of our stay we were much better acclimatised and I'm pleased to say we both managed the climb with relatively little difficulty.
I even managed to film a tongue in cheek time lapse video of fellow hikers on Huffers Hill while we were up there.
