During our two week holiday touring the Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado in late September, Liz and I saw many beautiful sights, but what generated the most 'oohs' and 'aahs' from us were the lovely fall colours that developed over our time there.
We saw some of the most intense tones while hiking from Bear Lake, up through forests of pine and aspen, to Bierstadt Lake, which was a lovely place in its own right.
This particular stand of trees, glowing gold in the morning light, was right by the side of the trail, just slightly above Bear Lake.
