One thing I really enjoyed during our holiday in Sedona Arizona was the quality of the the light at sunrise and sunset.
It was a real treat to be able to get out of bed in the dark, drive for five minutes to an overlook such as this one, and just watch as the twilight steals across the sky, followed by a crisp sunrise that patterns the landscape in a quilt of shadow and highlight.
The best part is that I could do all this while dressed in shorts and a vest - try doing that in North Wales where I live and you would end up in hospital with hypothermia!
Another thing I really liked about the area around Sedona was the wonderful twisted, stunted tress, clinging to life in the most improbable of places. They made for a great foreground and I always included one in my photos if I could.
