I love photographing at night, the colours, patterns of light and dark and the long shutter speeds all combine to give very evocative images.
It's great to be out at night as well, far from the hustle and bustle of daytime living with time to think, pray and generally re-boot my mental processes.
The only downside is that it can be cold and lonely stuck somewhere in the wilderness in the middle of the night, in need of a coffee and a toilet. (Sorry to be so un-artistic, but these things happen!)
However, I had no such problems here at Smerwick Bay on Ireland's Dingle Peninsula, as this was the view from our holiday cottage acroos the bay with the Brandon mountains beyond.
I actually took this photo in my dressing gown with a mug of coffee in hand and a warm bed just a few yards away.
