The north coast of Anglesey is a wonderland of little coves, inlets, islands and headlands, which are all prime photographic real estate.
This particular place is Porth Dafarch on Holy Island, but there are dozens of similar views scattered around this part of the coast to choose from.
As you can tell, this photo was taken after sunset, but before all light had vanished from the sky so there was a beautiful colour gradation from orange and pink at the horizon through magenta to deep blue overhead.
In this sort of lighting I like to emphasis bold shapes and contrasts and normally go for sillhouettes of headlands against the sky or rocks against the sea, but on this occasion I decided I'd like to still see some detail in the foreground rock so an ND grad filter, polariser and a bit of post processing in Photoshop gave me the effect I was after. Coupled with a long exposure to smooth the sea out resulted in this almost surreal view of a beautiful place.
