The North Wales seaside town of Llandudno is a veritable visual feast, and a lovely place to take a promenade when the weather's warm and sunny.
However, the weather definately wasn't warm and sunny on this particular day, as my wife Liz and I got back to the car following a bracing march up and down the pier in the stiff breeze.
Never mind though, because as Liz huddled down in the car I took my opportunity and headed down to the rocks at the base of the pier.
The tide was in and the waves were breaking vigourously at my feet as the clouds overhead took on a brief magenta tinge from the setting sun.
A long exposure of 5 seconds nicely blurred the water while still retaining some detail in the foam, and the finishing touch was that the lights on the pavillion at the end of the pier had just come on, setting the structure off very well against the darkening sky.
All in all, a much more interesting scene than you would find on a nice sunny day!
