A lovely sunny afternoon by the seaside - and what a seaside!
This is Penmon Point on the southeastern corner of the beautiful Isle of Anglesey, just off the North Wales coast, a 'go to' location for my wife Liz and myself, especially during the warm summer months.
There's such a richness of sensory delights to be experienced here it's hard to know where to turn next.
One of my favourite spots at Penmon is the rocky foreshore, with views out to the iconic lighthouse and Puffin Island beyond.
There's quite a large tidal range here, covering and exposing the eroded limestone foreshore twice a day, bringing life and refreshment to the seaweed coated rocks and tidal pools.
Out of direct sunlight the foreshore is just a mass of unattractive browns and greys, but as soon as a shaft of light hits the rocks, seaweed and pools they are transformed into a kaleidoscope of multi hued greens and yellows.
For this particular photo I positioned myself quite low down to make the most of the sunlit foreshore, showing off all those glorious colours set against the stark white and black of the lighthouse in the distance.
